Overview

This workshop is a fully-fledged practical workshop that use the Microsoft Word 2016 to give techniques for today’s workplace

This workshop is a fully-fledged practical workshop that utilises Microsoft Word 2016 software to learn basic and advanced Word techniques for today’s workplace. Basic lessons helps to learn how to format text with fonts and colours, use bullets and indents, customize the Quick Access Toolbar, insert pictures and screenshots, set up page layout for margins and printing. Learning this will help to transform a blank page into a professional looking document.

Advance lessons helps to: create and update a Table of Contents, Mail Merge to labels, envelopes, form letters and emails; use styles to create consistently formatted documents; facilitate changing paragraph, character formatting, create and insert Quick Parts to reuse data and content; create documents with consistent standards; work with captions and footnotes; review a document; track changes, and work collaboratively using Google Drive and Dropbox. Learning these advanced Word techniques will help to create quality documents.

In completion a ‘Participation Certificate’ will be awarded IT Centre, Vavuniya Campus of the University of Jaffna.

Target Group

This workshop is designed for school students in age 15 or above, school leavers from GCE Ordinary Level as well as GCE Advanced Level,students from undergraduates as well as postgraduates, business professionals, and workers from government and non-organisation.

Duration and Schedule

One day workshop, 8 Hours on Saturday – 9am to 5pm

 

Fee Per Participant

Rs 2750 for Students and Rs 3500 for workers/ staff

Medium of Instruction

This workshop is conducted in bilingual languages including English and Tamil. Participants can use both English and/or Tamil in the lecture discussions.

Method of Teaching and Learning

The workshop will be delivered in a combination of lectures, computer laboratory practical sessions, and group works.

  • To provide the practical skill in using the Microsoft Word2016 software.
  • To produce capable personnel in office applications, to the present job market.
  • To produce capable personnel towork collaboratively.

  • create and modify tables in order to organize and enhance data.
